The Winter Months
“For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone.”
Song of Solomon 2:11
Well….we aren’t there yet, it’s just the beginning of the Winter months. All of the wonderful celebrations are over and many have been very busy with family and friends. It is truly “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”, from the Fall Feasts, to Thanksgiving, to Hanukkah, to Christmas, and finally the New Year. Yes, it was a busy season. So now we have a time of rest. For the next few months before Passover and Resurrection Sunday, we have a quiet season, and it is very welcomed. We can take a lesson from this quiet season in nature, it is a resting time for God’s creation, and it should also be a time of rest and reflection for us. Even God our Father rested on the seventh day after creation. So if you are feeling a little slower right now, don’t fight it, rest in it. Spend time with the Lord and in His Word, seek His face and listen to what He has to say to you. Our Father God gives us permission, He tells us in His Word to “Be still and know that I Am God” Psalm 46:10, and you will be better prepared for the rest of the days to come. May you be blessed in this season of quiet and peace. Shalom
